SUMMER 2013
REAL TIME MIAMI
Architecture plays an eminent role in how cities are perceived and navigated . Many cities worldwide are instantly identified by their exclusive architectural elements and these also serve as reference points that ease the navigation through the city. Miami, a rising metropolis of very versatile character, is experienced through art, retail, beaches, and a very active nightlife providing an extensive amount of possibilities to locals and tourists. However being a city designed for the car, these possibilities can be difficult to fully access and experience as a pedestrian. Real Time Miami Tower will sit in the water, south of Port of Miami and will serve as a transition for three of the most active areas of the city (Miami Beach, Brickell and Downtown Miami). The addition of a free water fairy will allow a continuous access to the variety of activity that is provided by the Tower and also the access to visually understand and plan an adventure around the city while experiencing Miami in real time through digital overlays. Real Time Miami Tower will be the first and tallest building to ever sit in the water, becoming an iconic architectural asset to the city of Miami.
