SUMMER 2013
Biscayne Park

Problem:
-
Miami has developed as one of the most automobile dependent cities of the country. As consequence, a larger part of the street spaces are dedicated to automobiles.
-
Abundance of huge parking lots and wide streets give a hard time for the pedestrian.
Concept:
-
Informal street artists or graffiti artists use their environment as a canvas to express feelings, rebel and show their protests to society.
-
Claming territory for pedestrian by modifing the landscape as if it was a "three-dimensional graffiti".
Solution:
-
Large part of Biscayne Blv. is transformed into a park.
-
Biscayne Boulevard will continue through an underground tunnel under the new park.
-
the major intervention does not become a problem rather than a solution but it balances the amount of space dedicated to the different groups.
