  • Downtown Miami is completely divided in two sides, the city side, and the park and bay side. The problem that causes this disconnection is the fact that Biscayne Boulevard is a mayor street with high vehicular density, which makes very hard for pedestrians to cross it and the two sides to feel as two separate types of urbanism.

  • Using the concept of integration through ribbons, the edges of both the park and the city, demand the connectors that bring together the two sides of the city.

  • The strategy was to create walkways coming from the park that go up and develop pedestrian bridges in form of ribbons that would help people cross Biscayne Boulevard. These ribbons carry the idea of the park on top of them, providing the pedestrians with green spaces as well as wooden paths to walk and bike.
