Raphael Santos & Eliana
Project Description
Tangible applications refers to a spectrum of interactive media, and sensory experiences with objects or environments. A change in atmosphere with presence of people, an activation of space because of human touch, and technology that adapts to interaction.
Helsinki, Finland uses inconography very successfully among its street signs and wayfinding for tourists and resisdents alike. Imagery to describe location and activity as a primary source of information does its part well in Helsinki.
Currently the project Urbanflow in Helsinki uses both strategies of tangible applications and iconography to present a coherent wayfinding system.
